As the next generation of the nation’s fighters, children are a crucial human resource for achieving the success of a nation’s development. Therefore, to become quality human resources, development through various stimuli, particularly education, is essential. Education is expected to form the foundations of personality that will ultimately be beneficial to the individual, their environment, and the nation and state.

Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning environment and process that allows students to actively develop their potential, fostering spiritual and religious strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and the skills needed by themselves, society, the nation, and the state. The meaning of this provision essentially views education as a process to help children and the younger generation become intelligent, character-driven, moral, knowledgeable, and devout adults.

Homeschooling is an alternative educational model, implemented outside of school, to help children develop their potential to the fullest. Homeschooling also includes the terms “home education” and “home-based learning,” which are used for roughly the same purposes. As the name suggests, the homeschooling process is centered at home and parents are responsible for implementing education.

However, homeschooling generally takes place not only at home but can also be conducted outside of school with the assistance of tutors who can assist with the educational program. Parents can also enroll their children in private or other instructional programs to further develop their potential. Furthermore, the hope is that education outside the home will also allow children to socialize and interact with peers and adults.

Furthermore, homeschooling not only helps children develop their full potential but also allows teachers to focus more on observing the educational process because the homeschooling system utilizes a one-teacher-one-student learning system. This allows teachers to control the material presented, focusing on the child’s individual perceptions. This ensures that children understand the material well, and each lesson becomes a strong, meaningful foundation that can help them continue their learning.

Homeschooling is also designed to help children learn according to their interests and talents, in an appropriate way, at any time, with anyone, and in any situation, in a fun way for them. This allows them to be more flexible in their learning process. We also understand that children are born with their own talents, but as parents and educators, we must understand what talents they possess so we can stimulate them optimally. Because talents that are maximally stimulated will become talents that will be needed in their later lives.

And remember that a banana will grow and develop into a banana; it won’t produce different bananas at the same time. This reflects that if a child already has a talent, we must facilitate that talent, and we cannot force a child to develop a talent that is not inherent in them. This allows homeschooled children ample time to develop and hone their skills. These skills or abilities will help them be better prepared for the world ahead.
